TJ announced wonderful news! We can now sort multiple dragons at once!:
I’m happy to announce that you can now sort multiple dragons at once! The feature (which is available for both the table-based and tile-based versions of custom sort) allows you to use Shift+Click or Ctrl+Click to select multiple entries, then drag normally to sort as a group.
Other “Patch Notes:”
- Clicking an abandoned egg twice (or otherwise reloading the page after already owning the egg) should redirect you to the “get code” page rather than showing a message that the egg/hatchling isn’t abandoned.
- Rounded up some stray pixels on sprites (don’t worry, they went to good homes).
- Named hatchlings show up on the teleport page. You still can’t teleport them, but at least you’ll see a message telling you why.
- The Freeze section of the actions help page will show a list of recently-frozen hatchlings, and when they were frozen.
- Fixed the background on lineage pages for the Portal 2 skin.
- Fever Wyvern adult description has been updated.
Well, I tried to summon another Guardian of Nature again today. Unfortunately it didn’t work. Hopefully next time it will!
This weekend TJ announced, amongst other things, the change to the Fever Wyvern description.
To make up for a lack of physical strength, Fever Wyverns rely on a strain of deadly bacteria which grows on their tail spines. This bateria is used to help kill prey or as a defense mechanism. The bacteria will attack the victim’s nervous and respiratory systems upon entering the body, quickly rendering it helpless before eventually killing it. Usually a solitary breed, these dragons will only come together during mating season and will flare out the brightly colored sails along their wings to help attract potential mates. Although it has been observed that the wyverns are nocturnal, they will often pick an open spot of sunshine to curl up in and sleep as the day passes by.
Each Fever wyvern carries a unique and very deadly disease on the spines of its tail. To make up for a lack of physical strength, the dragons use this disease to their advantage by poisoning prey and fending off attackers. The illness will quickly render victims helpless before eventually killing them. A Fever will track its prey until the target can no longer move. Usually a solitary breed, these dragons will only come together during mating season, and will flare out the brightly colored sails along their wings to help attract potential mates. Although it has been observed that the wyverns are nocturnal, they will often pick an open spot of sunshine to curl up in and sleep as the day passes by.
ParticleSoup’s comment on the change
ParticleSoup, the creator of the dragon found the description had changed while he hadn’t been informed earlier. The description had been changed in a way it went against the concept of the dragon. That’s why TJ changed it again. Per ParticleSoup’s comment:
I gave those particles mass. Particles love mass.

|I wonder, what’s the difference between the old and new description of the fever wyvern?
The new sort will com in useful, sometime I guess.
The wiki page
on the Fevers has them all as well.
The story behind all the changes is that it was changed because TJ didn’t like the term “bacteria” being used; the word doesn’t fit the game’s time period or something like that, so I had to rewrite it in a way that still met both of our standards.
The first time the description was changed it was totally without my knowledge. The first description it had was the one I wrote, but apparently TJ had actually intended to change it from the very beginning, meaning the description I wrote wasn’t actually supposed to get through at all. The edits he made changed the whole concept of the dragon. I was angry about this, so I wrote a new description(the current one it has now) for it with some edits by TJ himself that I approved of.
At least this way, it’s still obvious that the dragons are in fact not venomous at all nor are actually poisonous, and that they just purposefully carry(and use) a deadly disease.

I’m glad TJ was open to a new description by ParticleSoup and that ParticleSoup was open to making a new description!
With the dragons from users now growing up, players are experimenting with combination on how to get the Yellow Undine. here are the results:
- Green Undine * Green Undine
- Green Undine * Gold
- Green Undine * Green copper Male
- Green Undine * Green copper female
Do you have other pairings with a Yellow Undine as a result? Let me know!
Well, I tried to summon another Guardian of Nature, but alas, no luck. I’ll try again in a month
Currently I’ve got only one complete set of Legendary Trios plus two more Magma’s. I guess it’s time to go hunting for two more Ice and Thunder dragons. After all, more sets give a higher chance at success.
Although the Encyclopedia still isn’t out of beta, TJ has release a new dragon! One dragon breed, eight eggs. Hunt these down in the forest and alpine. It looks like a lot of fun!
Change of drop window
TJ has decided we’ll have another change to the drop window for new releases:
This month marks the end of consistent beginning-of-the-month releases. While knowing when to look is nice, it also seems to have become a bit stale. Future releases will (very likely) still be on weekends, but may be scattered throughout the month.
: There is a thin layer of moisture coating this egg.
These eggs can be found in the Alpine and the Forest biomes.
TJ showed eight eggs for one breed. This could mean there is dimorphism for both the hatchlings and the adults.
While everyone is waiting for the encyclopedia to get out of beta, TJ has decided to give us a release of a dragon. And not one, but three!
The Drop time stays at Saturday, it seems. I don’t mind. I’ve just had my dinner and now I’ve got more than enough time to catch those new egg. Luckily I’ve left 7 egg slots open. With three different eggs, I’ll need at least 6 of them.
- : This egg is covered in thick blue stripes.
- : This pink and red egg wobbles occasionally.
- : This egg makes you feel a bit uneasy.
Although we can see the biome info on a dragon’s page, there’s no hint to the biome’s from TJ’s egg, cause they all showed cave as a location. Of course, he creates them out of nowhere so it’s logic there wouldn’t be a biome listed as with all his other dragons.
With a description glitch some eggs first showed cave as biome instead of the location where they were actually grabbed. This was fixed later, however.
TJ has only two of each egg. This means there will be no dimorphism for either of the eggs.
The breednames are yet unknown. The sort as followed:
- : Between (Gilded) Bloodscale and (Two-finned) Bluna
- : Between Canopy and the new bronze/red/caramel egg
- : Between the new pink/wobbly and Cheese (If you don’t have a Cheese, the Christmas would be next and otherwise Coastal Waverunner)
Of course new breeds tend to get nicknames. I’ve seen/thought of the following nicknames so far:
- : Blue Tip (in the beginning this egg had a description with Blue Tip instead of Blue Stripes)
- : Wobbly
- : Uneasy, Caramel, Bronze
The beta testers have been chosen! Unfortunately I’m not one of them, but TJ promised we’ll see the encyclopedia soon :
2014-06-27 – Encyclopedia Beta Update
If you’re a tester, have fun testing! For all others, happy hunting and have fun with everything else!
Just a little update to let you all know the beta testers for the dragon encyclopedia have not yet been chosen, no doubt due to the server outage and the (possible) problems this outage caused for TJ and the site.
TJ will announce when he’s sent the mails:
This morning/afternoon (depending on where you live), DC’s servers had two outages. The second outage caused people to loose eggs and trades. Personally I lost two eggs I caught in the AP and two hatchlings I named this morning are now nameless. Here’s TJ’s explanation for the loss:
Well, my eggs weren’t that valuable, so I don’t really mind, but there were people with Avatar and Metallic eggs, some even for trades, so they’re understandable not too happy. Unfortunately there’s nothing TJ could have done, if I understand the above correctly.
I hope you weren’t one of the people who lost precious eggs!
